The John C. Dvorak Awards for Telecommunications Excellence are recognized throughout the industry as a premier mark of achievement in computer telecommunications.
John C. Dvorak has long been rated the world's most popular writer in the field of small computers. He is considered a leading international authority on the entire industry, but especially in the areas where small computers intersect with telecommunications. His views and observations are followed by millions of readers.
Dvorak was one of the first to recognize the importance of small-computer connectivity. In the early 1980s he declared telecommunications to be the "fourth major application" of PC technology, and by the mid-80s he had already begun experimenting with online publishing. Since that time he has watched the rest of the industry catch up with his own prescient views.
A recognized authority in all aspects of the personal computer industry, Dvoraks views can be read in columns ranging from PC Magazine and PC Computing to Microtimes and Boardwatch Magazine.
Here are the categories used for the 1997 Dvorak Awards. These categories evolved as the Awards Committee received write-in nominations that do not quite fit the initial list, and voting is now closed for the 1997 awards. However, please do enter votes and nominations for the 1998 awards--the committee will retain them until active consideration begins early in 1998. Feel free to suggest new award categories!
| The names of all nominees will be held confidential until shortly before the final announcement. Only finalists will be publically identified. |
All qualified write-in nominations will be fully considered, so please participate. Your participation will help keep the Dvorak Awards one of the most significant honors those in the field of telecommunications can receive.
Please tell us how to contact you for further information about your nominations if needed (items marked with asterisks (*) are required or we cannot consider the nomination):
