Welcome and History

The original trailside inn was opened and operated by William "Uncle Billy" Rubottom as a stagecoach stop for travelers during the pre-statehood days.

Built in 1921, this historic restaurant is actually the fourth structure on the Bear Gulch site... Carrying on the tradition of hospitality for which this historic spot has been known since the Golden Days of '48, located on Foothill Boulevard, Old Route 66, in Rancho Cucamonga.

Oso, The Bear, a monument built by the Native Daughters of the Golden West in 1932, greets guests to the Sycamore Inn. The monument was built to commemorate Juan Batista de Anza, a pioneer, who led an expedition in 1774.

The Sycamore Inn is nestled among majestic sycamore trees. Patterned after the country inns of old, the Sycamore Inn features a massive fireplace and English gas lamps to give a warm atmosphere for its guests.

Home of one of the largest wine selections in Southern California, the Sycamore Inn has been highly recognized by Wine Spectator Magazine. The Sycamore Inn offers more than 600 bottled varieties, which are proudly stored in three temperature-controlled wine cellars.

Two party rooms on the second floor and The Grove on the lower level make the Sycamore Inn ideal for wedding receptions and business events.

The Sycamore Inn is dedicated to the same ideal of friendly hospitality that characterized its historic forerunner over one hundred forty-nine years ago.

From Victorville, Las Vegas and NE: Interstate 15 south to Foothill Blvd., west (right) past Archibald and Vineyard Avenues to Sycamore Inn (on right).

From Chino and South: Grove Avenue or Euclid Avenue north to Foothill Blvd., east (right) to Sycamore Inn (on left).
